Nosey About Anosmia?

Yes, anosmia is my topic today. What does it mean? Quite simply, it means the inability to perceive smells. When considering the 5 senses, sight and hearing are generally considered the "top two". However, anosmia can be quite debilitating. For many of us, the sense of smell can bring back fond memories of childhood. Anosmia can also interfere with the sense of taste, taking away one of life's simple pleasures. Most of us have experienced temporary anosmia while suffering from colds. Having the probem on a permanent basis would be very depressing. Anosmia can sometimes be caused by a head injury. Some other causes include surgeries, infections, colds, and dental work. Actually, I had a bout with anosmia twenty years ago. It lasted about six months. During that time my sense of taste was virtually nonexistent. However, I didn't lose weight because I continued to stuff my face out of habit. It was miserable. There was no apparent cause, so it was attributed to psychological factors. (I had just lost my father).

Anway, many cases of anosmia are treatable. Some cases are successfully treated with antibiotics. Other anosmics have tried natural remedies such as zinc and lutein. There is an Anosmia Foundation located in Canada. Their web address is www.anosmiafoundation.org

You will also find links to other anosmia related sites there. Hopefully, whatever the cause, there will be a cure for anosmia. Everyone should have the ability experience the basic pleasures in life.

Psychology, Money, and Humor

OK, here goes. I am trying to make money online. There are many things I am not suited for, selling is probably at the top of that list. I would sooner talk someone out of buying something than see them spend their hard-earned money needlessly. That having been said, I've decided to try my hand at selling things online. So obviously, I'm not your typical salesperson. I'm hoping this will be to my advantage. I have always been too trusting and have been scammed so many times. Some of the worst scammers are the ones that warn people about scammers. What a world. I myself have many faults, but I am not a scammer. I am also not a liar, a cheat, or an intentionally hurtful person. I have compassion, empathy and a tremendous amount of guilt (over everything). These traits keep me in line. I will try to sell things on this blog. It will include links to things I've read about or tried. It will also have some humor and personal observations. If I've personally tried something, I will say so. If not, I will be honest and just state what I've heard. I will try to make this blog enjoyable and entertaining as well as truthful. I have not made very much money online, but I am trying. I'm hoping people will read my stuff and click on my links. Whatever happens from here is alright with me. I welcome any feedback as long as it's friendly. I will be adding my links soon. Health and happiness to all.
